That race starts after my BED TIME!! All of the preparations and construction have had traffic and access to The Strip awful for a while now! And all the hotels jacked up their room rates hoping for the best, and now they've dropped the prices lower and lower because no one is buying them. It's gonna be rough. I'm like 4 miles from the Strip.

Also, they had it at the same time that the National Horse Show and Grand Prix are down at South Point, far south on Las Vegas Blvd. I'll be meeting up with numerous friends there while it's going. I hope the traffic isn't too insane that far down.

There are still people who don't know how they're going to get to work on the Strip and the hotels are creating "Staging Areas" from convention space and rooms for employees to go and chill to wait for a time when they're "allowed" to leave the hotels. It's a mess..... We have plenty of room here, why right in the middle of the CHAOS???

I'm not too thrilled myself, being that some insane person thought it to be a good idea to start the race at 11pm Vegas time. That puts it at 1am for me!! Ugh!! Looks like I'll be missing this one.
I've mostly given up watching F1 since the ascent of that insufferable snot Verstappen.

Kimi fan here. I feel the same.

Felt the same about Senna, Schumi and Hamilton though. But at least Senna and Schumi could win in a bad car....Lewis???

Fernando has made it fun in the beginning of the season now Lando.

I think they showed MV for perhaps 6 laps total on Mexico.

Agreed on all that, but there's something about Verstappen that I find to be particularly unbearable. I've been dialing a lot more WRC in the last couple of seasons, along with some of the slower SCCA sedan classes, and it's been much more fun!

Agree, but at least it's not a weekly 1-2 Red Bull finish like it was for Mercedes. That got old VERY fast. I basically put my own asterix next to Hamilton's name because had the team asked for him to let his teammate by, instead of the other way around...it would be his teammate(s) w/ all the championships, not him. I think both cars had about a 85+% podium rate. I'll take Verstappen over that predictable nonsense anyday. At least right now there's at least 2 unpredictable faces on the podium after almost every race.

I'll take Max over Hamilton all day long. I've never heard anyone think he knows better than the team and blame them for every time he doesn't win in my life. I agree with Midnight about his "teammate" never being allowed to finish ahead of him. I root for Russell every time. Unfortunately, when Mercedes changed the car to go back to standard side pods, they must have put the handling back to suit Lewis. Again, no one shall finish ahead of him. Yes, he has won 7 championships, but I think about half the grid could have won championships in those Mercedes. They kept changing the rules to try and slow them down!

Kimi's up there with Lauda for me.

Las Vegas is missing out. Kimi's a party animal.

Car flames out? Hit the yacht, it's Monaco. :)

Alonso's matured massively. I like him now, didn't used to. He used to whine too much.

I do believe I witnessed his moment in that crash in Australia a couple of years ago. (2016 already?)

Notice him crawling out from wreckage the size of a refrigerator at 00:47. o_O

F1 cars are mandated by regulations to have a driver's tub capable of withstanding what just happened to Fernando, nonetheless I was stunned and relieved to see him apparently relatively unhurt.

But he seemed to have a moment there, where he realized it could have ended very differently.

Yet he carries on because it's what he does.

Interesting the prices of tickets are dropping as well as rooms.

No interest there, but I'll tape it....but for my 65th year in 2024 I'd like to see the Indy 500 live. Nothing like the month of May used to be but it's a bucket list.

Road racing to me is better on TV. I used to go to Watkins Glen for the Indy and Historic events but you only see 14 seconds of action every lap.
