[Administrators/Moderators: If I have placed this in the wrong section, please move, as needed. I was not sure where to post. :) Thanks.]

I've just, recently, purchased the Snark Tuner and the Hercules Mini-stand (Home Series). They are both great.

The red Snark features a built-in mic...so, I just clip it to the music stand and tune the guitar...quite easy and is always ready to use. For gigs, I take the blue Snark to clip onto the guitar (the Red one would work, as well). Again, very easy to use and great accuracy. Relatively cheap...as far as tuners go. I prefer the Snark (I really like the rotating head and display - makes it easy to read) over the Planet Wave one I have for accuracy and ease of use.

The Hercules Mini-stand is quite collapsible and compact - perfect for jam sessions with the Hercules sturdiness (which was a key feature when I started looking for a travel one). I have a Hercules floor stand (grab and play) which I really like, but can find it to be bulky for travel.

Here are a few pictures:

snark is really popular now

I just hate those clip on tuners on every guitar along with a capo and whatever else people can hang off of them

but the snark does work well

Yep guys who leave them clipped onto the headstock is one of my pet hates, together with unclipped guitar strings.

Not crazy about all that stuff hanging from the headstock either, I have to admit. I did finally get one of those pedal tuners (Korg blackout), and I'm very happy with that - very handy to be able to tune onstage without unplugging, and to have a handy "kill" switch at my feet.

Toni, will the Snark tune to A432, or just A440?
cjd-player,

The range is 415hz-466hz. Here are the specs listed for the Snark Guitar & Bass Tuner (blue). http://www.snarktuners.com/prod_gb1.html
Thanks Toni,

I've been messing with A432 with solo fingerstyle and really like it. My Planet Waves tuners won't go there.

I like the Snark that I have. The only problem with it is that you can't see it in outdoor daylight.
I don't use a capo that attaches to the head of the guitar any more.
The Kyser that I used to use ruined the finish on my guitar, where it made contact with the head.
I keep my Shubb in my pocket.
My favorite guitar stand is the Hamilton.

It's very sturdy and light.

Boy, do I agree about not hanging 'stuff' onto the headstock. That's why I use the built-in mic (red) Snark the most often. TMG, I've not had any problem with reading the dial outside.... I've switched to the the Shubb S1 capo, too...so, nothing resides on the headstock. :)

Remember when the headstock was utilized as a cigarette holder? YIKES!!!!!  (When Eddie was Eddie ;))
