She says
Jesse Malin put a band together to play sloppy covers for the "Geezer" Tribeca Film screening afterparty on Saturday at Berlin in NYC. It was packed like sardines in there but someone managed to catch this one song on video, Billie Joe, Tre Cool, Derek Cruz and me playing Surrender. You'll notice pretty quickly that I really don't know it which makes it way more fun IMO

What is both noteworthy and inspiring is what she plays because she does not know the song - rhythmic roots, an occasional fifth and octave and a few clinkers when the progression veers into mild unpredictability. This is pretty much what any bassist who does not WTF they are doing sounds like when they have to make something up using only their ears and maybe a quick glance at the guitarist's fretboard. I'm going to start telling people that Catherine Popper plays like me :)

I wish the video showed her playing, but you can definitely hear her! Sounds great to me!

You have to sort through some rough live videos, but here is their version of Norah's "Bull Rider"
