That is a perfect sign of the times. People can't read the overpass height signs anymore so they need "haptic feedback" to stop them from their own stupidity.

We have these on some places - normally there is a sign before that tells the max heigth - maybe it is because of Google Maps that it does not show here - anyway - them hanging pieces touch your vehicle and alert you - and the max height signs were also few hundred yards before - or at least before there was the last chance to take alternative route.

This reminds me of childhood. Adults were telling kids that if they go on thin ice and drown they get whipped good.

Kids were more afraid of being whipped than drowned.
