So, which Guild models have a center strip, and which ones don't?
Guitars with plywood/laminate backs have no centre stripe; the back is made of a single piece of "wood". The centre stripe means that the back is made of two pieces of solid (ie. not laminate) wood.
Typically, entry-level instruments have laminate backs, while more expensive models have solid backs (this is not to say that laminate-backed Guilds are undesirable - my lam-back D25 has been my only acoustic for 35 years).
Wow very Cool .Not mine, but I got to play it a few times before it was auctioned for Guitars4Vets; The Flight 93 Memorial Guitar. The names of the passengers and flight crew are laser engraved in this beautiful specimen of maple with both flame and birdseye.
My favorite amongst my Guilds, the 2011 F50ce
My favorite overall, the Martin D18DC
AS you can see, Ross' original answer may have been a little oversimplified. So, which Guild models have a center strip, and which ones don't?
