She's back home. My '93 D-6 NT HG is now a lefty.

Looky looky: My first good acoustic guitar!

Isn't she pretty?

After discussing the matter with my tech, we chose a quite pragmatic approach to the conversion. New bone nut and saddle, and a transparent pickguard - that's it! The guitar plays and sounds wonderful. A completely different animal than my el cheapo Fender acoustic I had before.

Two detail pictures. Nut:

and saddle/pickguard:

Strings are DR Sunbeams 11's, and I'm ready to subsequently test some other options that were proposed in the prequel:

Thanks to all who have accompanied me along the way (y) TBC...

Anyway, here's wonderwall 😅

Great job. I bought my lefty Guild D40 in 1987 — in had to be ordered, because no guitar store I knew of actually sold lefties at that time. When I got it, the finish was so new that it was still a bit soft in places.

Still have that beauty.

Thanks all for your kind replies!

Due to family duties I didn't have much time to play today - I just strummed a couple chords and listened how they rang out. I'm already quite sure that I'm gonna keep this guitar, the tonal spectrum, resonance and projection are amazing.

Yes, Daniel did a great job here. His website if you want to check it out: https://dsguitars.com/

Thanks fro sharing his webpage address. Very impressive for instance how clean he repairs broken headstocks! He does not try hiding the repair by spraying over it with dark lacquer, no, he makes it part of the guitar! Great work he does.
