Hello folks:

I want to buy the GF60RCE that our member Guildzilla has listed on eBay (thread 0000 GF-60 RCE.

To fund the purchase, I'm selling my 1987 GF60R and my very green 1993 F65CE. I've been playing the F65 this morning - it's a delight to play, sounds great, I love the cutaway, and i works like a charm plugged in. On the other hand, my slightly beat-up GF60 (two repaired top cracks and tree dings) has no electronics, but is far and away the best sounding guitar I've ever owned. It occurs to me that I can get the best of both worlds by combining these two guitars into one. Plus, of course (and I know that the only people in the world who might get a giggle from this are on this board), the combined model numbers are a treat - just mash GF60R and F65CE together for GF60RCE.

These are both excellent guitars - the GF60 is my favourite of all, and I would never let it go if it weren't for the chance to get another one. And the F65 is right up there too - everyone does admire the green before they hear it or play i, then they forget about the colour. I was going to give it to my daughter to start her career as an environmental rock star (we'll do songs about global warming and dedicate them to West and Graham), but I guess she'll have to keep on making do with her aqua-finished F-20.

Shoot me a pm if you might be interested in either? I'll post full descriptions and photos later this afternoon.

I'm going to put them up on the Vancouver Craigslist as well.

Cheers,

Hi John; maybe your daughter could use this Coastie-spotted ... eh ... 'Tropical' Harmony as her backup/beach guitar ... Good luck with your sale/s.

That's the first good laugh I've had today. Thanks.

Here are a few shots of the GF60R - note that there has been (sob) an additional repaired crack on the lower treble bout, for which I'll post recent pics onTuesday - I've had to travel out of town on a family matter and can't get them done right now.

This is serial number 0009, with the early wider diamonds

Note small chip on headstock treble side, scratching on bass side from an idiot with a metal string winder - "string-winder-itis"

As I mentioned above, there are two new dings and a new repaired crack on the front - I'll get detailed photos ASAP

This guitar also has noticeable bellying behind the bridge, as described by 'Zilla in his posts about the GF60RCE - but intonation is perfect, and the action is right one for a fingerpicker or swing player.
And I repeat that this the best sounding guitar I've ever owned, I would never sell it except to get another GF60.

I have only two shots of the F65CE - it's in near-perfect condiion, except for the tiniest bit of finish crazing on the upper bass bout

This a great sounding and very comfortable guitar to play.

More detail to come when I get back to Vancouver.
Always happy to talk about these guitars, and I know whever buys one or both will be a happyt LTGer.

John decided to buy the GF-60RCE I had listed on e-Bay. We finalized the deal this afternoon, and I canceled the e-Bay listing. Just in case anyone was wondering what happened there. I'm delighted to have John get my guitar.

Nice axes JK! It makes me happy when good deals happen between members. I'm positive Doug is a pleasure to deal with.

Now. . . I just gotta see a pic of the aqua finished F-20! Please post pics so my yearning heart will be at peace.

Graham is now the owner of, although it's not yet in his hands, my dearly beloved GF60R.

Bobby McGee is now the owner of, and probably playing as we speak, Graham's dearly beloved JF30-12, which (I believe) used to belong to Scratch.

A dear friend of mine here in Vancouver will, I hope, soon be the owner of my green JF65CE - it's just such a direct complement to her red hair, don't you know? Mostly she's a fine player and a wonderful singer, and that guitar suits her to a T.

And I will, I hope, soon be the owner and player of 'Zilla's GF60RCE.

This is what the word "community" means. And I don't know of another one like this - this is "globalization" in the best sense - collapsing vertical communications hierarchies with a bit of a rake-off in quality, truth, and value at every stage into myriad point-to-point communications and direct dealings among individuals. Doesn't get better than LTG.

And I'll be sending a little bit on to Don in partial thanks and with great respect. Thanks, Don. You do good work n the world.

What a wonderful world.

Please mind my sloww typing. I have to type only with my right hand as each finger on my left hand has two very large divots on each tip, and yes, of course I was playing 'Scratch' whilst you were kibitzing....

Bobby.
