Good catch on that D-40-12 Hans! That's a neat guitar.
I believe those brass pins are for the Bridge Doctor. I am using that system on my 1970’s Alvarez 12. FYI you only need to use one of those brass pins towards the center to screw the BD into. The rest of the original pins can be left as is. That it how I did it and how Dave Bricker from BD told me he does it.Hey, @Boneman , I'm wondering if those metal pins have something to do with the Bridge Dr. that's (supposedly) installed on this. I didn't see any other through-hole on that bridge. I'm guessing that's why this was done here, but I don't know.
I don't think the break angle is affected much, and I haven't really experienced much change with bridge pins other than looks. But that's just me.
Once again, right you are Hans! I saw the headstock, and though "D4-12" for sure, and didn't even get far enough into the photos to see this.Hello Sandy,
No, you're mistaken. It is indeed a D-40-12, which was made during 1971, before the introduction of the G-212. It is a rare one so, when you starrt discussing the price, you need to take the rarity into account. And I believe this guitar was at one point owned by an LTG member.
Sincerely,
Hans Moust

Hi Joan! Great to hear from you!As far as I concerned if you want to play a 12 you want a Guild. Like mentioned, there are woods, size, shape, and condition to be considered. I bought my f-312 new and played and performed with it for decades and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately a few years ago I realized I wasn't playing it much and not very well so I sold it to a forum member knowing it deserved to be played. Where do you live? Is there a possibility of a road trip? Welcome to Let’s Talk Guild and keep us posted on your hunt.
