No, not a band name, although now that I think about it.........
Anyhoo. Inspired by White Castle and my own lunch staple avocado/tomato/onion sandwich, I got inventive a couple of weeks ago and subbed a patty of breakfast sausage for the avo.
I use King's Hawaiian Hamburger buns for the perfect size and also the lowest sodium bread on the market to my surprise, although I can tolerate more these days.
ATO is pretty self explanatory, I use butter or mayo on the bun. No lettuce.
I DO use it on a sausage slider, though, with both mayo AND Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. Ranch could work too if that's your style, as well as bread alternates, of course.
Whole Foods has ground breakfast sausage in 1-lb packs at $5.99 which is fair for prepared sausage. Safeway sells plain ground pork for same price. Get 4 sliders from a pound and suddenly you've got a pretty reasonably priced lunch. With some slaw or garlicky kale salad on the side.
I don't do beer until after 5 but don't let me stop you.
