Roughly a year ago, I picked up a Guild super-strat with a whole bunch of changed out parts on it. The electronics were borked (EMG's from another guitar), a Kahler Flyer from somewhere else and doesn't pass a signal. I bought a California humbucker pup from danerectal (thanks!), but the guitar ended up sleeping in the case during the great migration from Philly to Abington.

Any suggestions for strat style neck and middle pickups to compliment the humbucker that was originally in the S-281? I'm not wedded to single coils so 'buckers in that form factor are ok. This guitar is a player, not Grotworthy.

Well the EMG and California (MIJ) were factory options.. probably Armstrongs as well. I have a "stat" guild with mini switches.. Came with Duncan Designed pickups.. Who know what was orginaly there. But I switched them out for a 59 Duncan in bridge and two classic stacks.. The pickups cost near as much as I paid for the guitar... sure sounds sweet.

I only paid a hundred for it, so anything I put in it would be more than I paid.

That sounds like a good combo, Howard! I'm looking at Duckbuckers too, but I wish I could find some video or clips where they weren't being run through a fuzzbox.
