I have one of the very early Tom Cats from Pure Salem. Fantastic quality made guitar
The early guitars had set necks and a less fancy headstock. It's less fancy but looks more Guild like.
Great quality piece of mahogany, thicker and heavier body than the T-Birds. Purchased it well before NS TBirds arrived. I would say equal or better quality to the Korean DeArmond Jetstar. I believe the one I bought may have been a prototype or early model. I purchased it on eBay from a guy that just did a review of the guitar
Pure Salem had a number of pretty cool body shape reissue models. The Tom Cats eventually came with a Bigsby vibrato. I lost interest in the brand when they started using bolt-on necks. Probably not a fair reason to abandon the brand but with the NS models their were more vintage like Guilds now on the market.
