I’m doing better now. The pain has subsided to about 50% what is was. Couple Benedryl, acetaminophen, lots water, and ice packs. Just smeared them with some honey. Probably 10-11 stings but only one is noticeably swollen. Luckily I’m not allergic.

Walked into a Starbucks today. This was an actual Starbucks store with people sitting at tables working like every damn Starbucks around.

Grabbed a bottled water only to be greeted with: "Sorry sir, we're only taking orders through the app or drive-through" and then they walked away.

Customer service here in 2023.
The last two times I ordered through the Starbucks app, they could not find my order when I got there to pick it up.

"Naturally anti-biotic plus healing assisting elements."

Mom always slapped on baking soda paste, I think. Cheaper than honey, I bet.

Baking soda's not antibiotic. Honey's been used on wounds since at least Roman times. Can't find any ref to sodium bicarbonate being useful for bee stings or wounds, or skin inflammation. ;)

It’s believed that baking soda can help neutralize the acidity of the sting and mitigate inflammation. “While this might be considered by some to be an old-fashioned home remedy, I’ve seen it really help in family members and patients,” Dempsey says.

Baking soda paste first to draw out the toxins and Benadryl are the key. Honey as an antibacterial or any antiseptic at the end is optional.

Tried fixing our couch this weekend. The brace for the front arm was split in three places. I doubt they cure the wood at all. The only nails in the whole thing are carpet tacks. All the lumber is stapled.

Old timey cure for a sore throat - a spoon full of Vicks Vaporub with sugar on top. Also, a nail left in a mason jar of water to rust. Drinking the water was supposed to treat low iron in women. And if you are really poor and pregnant, you used to get cravings to eat the clay at the riverbank.

Giving whiskey to your one year old was a cure for a high fever...

As a kid rumour was to put mud on a bee sting...as well as pissing on a jellyfish sting. Never did either :giggle:

Well, whiskey on the gums might have worked as well...if not better...as paragoric for a teething baby.

...and my father gave me a jigger-full (50 ml?) of Blackberry brandy as about a ten or 11 year old as a cure for a terrible
sore throat...a remedy that I use to this day!

anyway the real reason i came over here, I have got a rant. boy am I sick of corrcting people on FB about the fact that Barry Gibb played red and blue Songbirds, but they are not the Barrry Gib signature model.

I'm afraid no matter how hard I try, at this point, the ones he actually played/plays from this point forward will permanently be considered the signature model- that is what is driving up the price/value of the signatures, because it is widely accepted that the signatures are clones of the ones he played, when in fact they are the later, deeper bodied variant that there is no evidence of Barry ever playing a deep bodied Songbird variant, signature model or otherwise.
@mavuser ,

I think, dear friend, that the real inaccuracy in your rant, and likely a reason for your frustration, is that you used the works "plays," "played," and "playing" in relation to his holding a guitar on stage. While I have only ever seen the PBS (or public television) concert film, never seen Mr Gibb do anything but strum with a finger(s) across the neck..."using a guitar as a prop" might be a better choice here.

That said, I liked the Bee Gees in their early days, and presume they must have all been real players when starting out...

@HeyMikey , just wondering, would smearing some Aspercreme on it knock down the pain level for you? Its no longer NSAID based, so probably won't help swelling, but the Lidocaine might cut the pain, works well for me (most of the time) on my old man joints...very temporary though, good for getting you through a rough patch.

Bill, he defintley played guitar, mostly rhythm of course. Perhaps not on his recent solo tours, but definitely over the years. Just a few examples:

With his blue Songbird:

Two Guild aocustics!

With a Guild X-375 (?)

See! I told ya! :p
:D:p😄

For those that are not aware...are there any?..TE and his brother were child prodigies and played wicked stuff as a duo in Austrailia before any of us "up here" knew they even existed. How many are aware of the Tommy Emmanual Telecaster? (GAD and GGJag do not count!)

Oldest I could find:
