Only Brazilian Rosewood smells better. EI Rosewood doesn't.

Rosewood smells better. That ought to be worth a few extra shekels.

We had a interesting thread about smelling our guitars a while ago:

My two Tacoma rosewood guitars (F-47R and DV-6) have a sweet, almost bubble gum smell.

My '65 D-50 braz. came with a musty smell, but was due to a musty case. After transferring the guitar to a new case, and keeping it out in the room for some time, the musty odor coming from the guitar has disappeared. Can't say I can smell the braz., but my smell capacity has been gone for a long time.

I have an old dread with solid rosewood back and sides (not a Guild), it has amazing tone. I too hear Mahogany as a bit warmer and less loud.
