I saw the MC5 documentary (*A True Testimonial*) in a theater here in Cambridge when it played a few years back, and was looking forward to its release on DVD. But Wayne scuttled that idea, which was very disappointing, as it's a amazing flick, with some telling interviews and impressive live footage. (I was hoping for complete versions of some of the live songs might be included as DVD bonus material.)
I'd heard that Kramer decided -- after the fact -- that the documentary should also include stuff about his post-MC5 solo career, which would have made it a whole different thing, and a much more expensive project, requiring additional shooting and editing, etc. (And it really makes no sense -- most of the band members, not just Kramer, had careers after the MC5.)
Here's hoping it still manages to see the light of day.
