I was in the supermarket yesterday and they were playing "I Left my Heart in San Francisco," and I was wondering how much longer we'd have him. One of the greats is gone.

I love every one of his collaboration albums. My favorite is his 2002 album with k.d. lang - A Wonderful World. His two albums with Gil Evans are about as beautiful a collection of ballads as you'll find. Saw him live in 2016 in an 800-seat concert hall at Rowan - he insisted on singing one of his songs without amplification and dang if he couldn't still fill the hall.

Agreed. It is the end of an era. Tony was the real deal. Such a great life and career. RIP. They're playing is music all weekend on the Sirius/XM 40's station. He was a WWII vet.

I'm showing my ignorance here, but are you speaking of GIL Evans or BILL Evans? Either one would be great. If your speaking of Gil Evans, which albums are those?
