Very sad indeed and way too young. Some people didn’t get his deadpan delivery, kind of like Bob Newhart, but the man was funny as all get out.

Living in Australia, we didn't get SNL or much of Letterman, Conan etc., but I have been catching up with his career by binge watching youtube the last week or so & the guy was so great. His delivery, comic timing & his fearlessness was on another level. Told the best stories & in his case, it was the journey rather than the destination, that was the the payload of the stories. He made punchlines which were purposely not funny, funny. Possibly the best talk show guest ever & he seemed to be held in far greater reverence by fellow comedians than the the general public (& TV executives).

He seemed like a good guy too. Watched his Netflix talk show which had Drew Barrymore as the guest last night & that really came through.
