Holy Cow! Another Ohio rocker gone. RIP.
When I was a kid, there were a few clubs called the Hullabaloo scattered across NE Ohio from the mid-60s to the mid-70s. Eric Carmen and the Raspberries, Joe Walsh and the James Gang and Todd Rundgren used to regularly play this Hullabaloo circuit.
One was in my hometown, and it was where all the teenagers hung out, including our babysitters. I remember that one of them brought over the Raspberries first record which had a scratch-and-sniff sticker that smelled like raspberry. I've since always associated that babysitter with the smell of raspberry. Oh sweet youth!
