Of course, I will never sell my 1971 D25Br. I got so much into it, have owned it nigh on 10 years, and well, I have high hopes one of my kids will one day take it down from the wall and take ownership of it...It's a great sounding dread.

But due to getting older and right shoulder woes, I have moved on to the F30r. It's so easy to play, sounds great, and I have found the right string alloy and gauge for it. Still use the 2.0mm picks too. Thinking of gong brass pins, will see. I hear they give more sustain, not sure.

Someone might wonder, what up with Hoboken TRC? 😀

Woody, I'm glad you've found another (Guild) soul partner to keep making music with! That's all that matters. Your F-30R looks great, BTW!

I will be getting a full left arm replacement in October.
I hope it will help relieve the shoulder pain that I am currently living with.
For now, I play a Grand Concert size guitar and plug it in for my solo shows.
Playing sitting and with the aid of a guitar strap holding the guitar up high helps.

I love my 2 Dreadnaught guitars and I hope that I will once again be able to play them
without shoulder pain following the surgery.

Now my Guild Baritone is an even bigger challenge right now!

It's called the "Winter Soldier" treatment, Bill. :D (reference Marvel comics). :)

Hope TMG meant shoulder, not arm!

2mm?! You might as well use a chunk of a 2x4!

Westerly: What gauge strings are you using on the F-30? I have 12’s on mine and am thinking of trying a light (11) set. Also, I am digging Monel’s lately, but wonder about them on a smaller body guitar.
I’d be curious how that F-30 sounds through your overdriven bass amp..!

Hey John. Lights. D’Addario EJ 11s.
My F30r is short scale and could even handle .13s. 11s are too loose.

Chaz Bucky Barnes is the first thing I thought of when I read "full left arm replacement"!! Ha!
TMG - I hope you are able to get back on the dreadnaught saddle sir! Best of luck!! If not, it's a good thing Guild did just as well making smaller bodied guitars!! I have 2 US made guild dreads and a US made Guild jumbo and lately I have been playing the hell out of that little F-130 I picked up on GC.com for $375. So fun. Plenty of volume. Super comfy. Versatile as all get out. Strums nicely, made for finger picking and I have also been playing some slide in alternate tunings.

What is up with the Hoboken Teeyarcee???
You and the BR have been on a tone-seeking journey together for sure. I get not ever wanting to get rid of it. I hope it gets future family use my man! Such a great vintage Guild.

I'll add the bonding process is not always peaches and cream. Sometimes I have found that I will kind of put a guitar away for a while. Maybe it didn't sound as good to my ears one day. I'll pick it back up and fall in love again.. Much like a relationship.. :)

Hey D30. Oh yeah, the Br and me is more of a saga. Lol

may 8 year old looks to be the musical one of all 3. Saving it for her 13th birthday. 😀

I took the TRC and put it on F30. Mav told me years ago it was a Hoboken inventory item. As my D25 is 1971 so they would still have had stock from the move.

Nice. I like the Hoboken trc for sure. Has a touch of class.
That will be great 13th birthday present and hell of a way to begin passing it down, sir.
