It is interesting that exists but not the standard necks that would fit most guilds. All my other acoustics have 20 frets along with the Guild D 25. I can't imagine what a 12 fret neck would be for. Thanks for posting it though.

I ordered a mahogany neck. Basic diminsions for a Martin dreadnaught. I'll pull the damaged neck off the D 25 and see what I can do. I suspect I can use the fingerboard. At this point I won't worry too much about it replicating the D 25 neck. We'll see what is possible.
I guess there are a lot of guitar necks that meet the body at the 12th fret. I have not seen a Guild model that does. I have a Martin 12 string (D12-20) that does.

In case you're not worried about "Guildness" and correctness if you want it playable you can buy 14 fret necks (more Martin looking) and they sell them. On Stew-Mac or on the Martin website. Not authentic or GUILDISH but you could fix it and it would play. If you're into fixing stuff...... just sayin, is all. (y)(y)
Yep. That is what I am going to do. The body sounds really nice. It is a shame not to have it playable. One of my very first guitars (in the late '60s) was a D 25. This one sounds just like it.

Guild Mark series (classical) have 12 fret necks.

I recently rescued a D25 from a pawn shop. It had the head stock broken off. Someone had done a VERY poor job of reattaching it. The neck seems beyond restoration. Where can I find a new neck?
My '72 G37 had the headstock break clean off at an angle front to back along the grain back in 1994. I had jjust moved to Ann Arbor, MI. I called Guild and they had a warranty station music store right there in Ann Arbor. They were able to put it back together and it has worked well ever since (28 years), with a very slight reopening of the crack right on the surface today. If it gets worse I may have it rebroken and repaired again, this time with dowels to strengthen the joint. So it's doable as long as no wood is missing. You can see the crack in this photo, runs from the high E tuner down through the relief for the truss rod access to the outside. You can also see very slight cracks in the finish running in the same direction.

Brad I remember seeing this one on the verb and when I first saw this thread I went looking for it. I must not have type the description right. This neck has been on reverb for at least 2 years. With some shaping might work. Obviously needs a nice EBONY :) board but already has the headstock veneer and with the Chesterfield would be an aesthetic upgrade for your D-25.

Also a good option I think. Stuff from Stewmac is pretty good quality in my experience. I'd rather have a great vintage D-25 with a new aftermarket neck and be playing it than not at all...

I have already ordered a mahogany neck that is a basic Martin shape. I'm going for making it playable rather than Authentic. I appreciate all of the comments. I'll post picks when I get started on it. The neck is about 2 weeks out.

I don't know of a 12 fret guitar that Guild made in 2002 or thereabouts. so, unless I am wrong about
that, and/or the part is incorrectly dated, I believe it to be a 14-fret neck.

it *is for an acoustic guitar, whatever it is (thanks Hans!)

Late, but FYI:

I didn't check the specs, but wow - when do these ever show up?

I know you've already located and ordered a neck, so this suggestion may be pointless, but Hans Moust is a VERY long standing member here and he'd be the first person I'd ask about locating an original neck. Hans may not have one in stock, but he sure might know someone who does. Heck, Hans may have one laying around.

looks like an 18-fretter no maple skunk stripe on the neck to match the inlays (so it's not a SF), thus, just throwing darts here, but I can only imagine this neck is for a 1970's or 1990's S-100 or another electric I might be overlooking that has the same headstock and 18 frets. extremely unlikely it will jive with a D-25 body.

This is in California. I'm thinking that it is a more recent build, from AZ or CA. I am not sure of the models made during this time period. But I could easily be incorrect. I messaged the seller to ask if it's more recent than Westerly. Although it could be from a Westerly dumpster. I saw many Guild parts from the early 2000s scavenged from the factory closing.

Thanks a lot for all of the input. That looks like a lovely neck. Besides being a proper Guild neck it is about as far from being a D25 neck as what I have planned for the guitar. The initial idea is to take off the neck and remove the fingerboard. Shape the Mahogany blank that I have on order. I won't know exactly what that entails until it arrives. Attach that finger board. I'm toying with idea of utilizing a Taylorish type of bolt on system. Shape a tenon that fits but bolt it on. We'll see. It is all speculation until I see what I have to work with. Way more important to me is the guitar didn't go in the garbage (eventually I believe it would have been tossed by the Pawn Shop I got it from) and the body gets to have a whole new life. The body has a distinctly Guild Mojo to it. Thanks again for the input.
