Has anyone here done this ? I thought I would check with the brain trust before committing. I have an original case for an M-65 which has gone funky, by which I mean that the spots where the fabric touches the guitar seem to cause discoloration or oxidization of the frets and strings.
Is there some conventional wisdom about what kind of fabric to use ? I think I remember hearing that synthetics won't react with organic finishes, and vice versa, so for nitro I'd want some sort of polyester fake velvet or muppet fur. Does that sound right ?
The case is in decent shape otherwise, and I hate throwing out original stuff.
