I saw this on the Elderly website. It looks like the pickguard is a bit thinner in the middle and the bridge has been redesigned...

I like it and I want one!!

I was wondering about the rosewood bridge there as well. Kinda outta place on a top of the line 512.

Some of the very early 512s had rosewood bridges so this may be consistant with a "vintage" production attempt. I think the rosette and binding may have less ply than my 1990 512, based on what I saw in a store. The older rosewood Guilds (F-512 and G-312s) had tops which were far more spectacular. The compensated saddle is a definite improvement.

Those are bone pins

And I thought Guild changed a few years ago to match the fretboards and bridge materials!?!

My '07 F-412 has a rosewood bridge (compensated) as well.

Gotta say, it sounds INCREDIBLE! Made me sell my beloved '70 Martin D-12-20, and I have NO regrets.

My old F512 had a rosewood bridge but it was much darker, it was an 05 model. Maybe the picture I posted isn't representative of the color on all the models? Although I would prefer ebony, it won't stop me from getting one.

my old F512.

the compensated saddle is a great improvement. Still like the ebony bridge.

Just won an auction on a '72 Guild F212. This is the mahogany back and sides F-40 shaped small jumbo 12-string.
When I get it, it is going to have an overhaul like you wouldn't believe. Tusq nut (a 12-string at that), Tusq bridge saddle and pins, JLD Bridge Doctor, and maybe all new open-geared Waverly tuners!
And of course, new Cleartone strings.
Does it really need all that stuff? Probably not, but I believe in after market mods, and these are simple, inexpensive improvements that surely enhance the already beautiful sound of a great guitar. I also believe in using every tool and gadget available in the purpose of getting every bit of sound out of an instrument, and these mods will do that.
Can't wait.
Yes, Tusq is the way to go. They make all sizes for all acoustic guitars.
