a friend of mine liked my blue t-250 that hatted frau and capnjuan helped me to buy so much that he bought the red t-200 from jay.
last weekend we had a family party where you can see the differences between the earlier t-200 or roy buchanan signature model (the red one) to the later t-250 (blue) more details in the hopefully soon coming NT from hans. :D
and how expected they are very similar but not the same. playabilty is the same, feeling, almost, but the sound differs slightly but with the same character.

here are some pics:

and one thing we hopefully will learn, in the new testament is why in the vids roys guild looks like the bodyshape of a t-250.

Hello krysh,

There will be an explanation!

and one of his guitars at an auction; here you can see the white guild logo.

It was not an auction but a guitar show. At the show there was an exhibition set up by John Sprung and Gill Southworth, who had gotten hold of Roy's complete guitar collection and which included the Guild.

Sincerely,

Crazy ??

Yep, no doubt about it my friend !

There's a nice version of "Green Onions" on Roy's "The Atlantic Sessions", with Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn.

No, not that but, hugely enjoyable none-the-less !

What a hugely important "unknown" musician Steve Cropper is ! And look at the Duck ......... his gut is holding the bass out so far he can barely reach it !!

I am exaggerating !

Thanks Michael ....... hugely enjoyable !

Krysh,

I thought every 200 and 250 came with a gold neck plate featuring the face of the Statue of Liberty. Did yours come with a gold one?

darryl,
as far as I know this neckplate was used on the "bolt on" instruments only in 1986, to celebrate the 100th birthday of the statue, but did not have anything to do with the models. I have also seen them on pilot basses.

I figured I'd post another set of siblings...In these photos I removed the gold knobs and added the black metal knobs guild used in the 1980's.

Sorry to say that I broke up the pair. I kept the 'burst T250. I also figured it was a pretty rare color. I know the black T-200 went to a good home.
