Hi there, Guild-Lovers:
Here at www.myspace.com/sgarveymusic
I'm currently working on a CD of songs by 70's era singer-songwriters and have the first 5 preliminary tracks up to listen to. The F50R (also pictured with me on the site) was recorded straight into my DAW with the K&K Trinity Western I installed. There's tunes by Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, Chuck Brodsky and James Taylor.
Speaking of James Taylor, there's also a video of his younger brother Livingston and myself on there singing a duet Liv and James did together about 20 years ago called "City Lights." I'm singing James' part. But there's a bit of a Guild story there...
When Livingston was here with me to do the show, he came into my office which has my F50R proudly displayed in the corner on its stand. Liv walked in, immediately went to it, sat on my couch and started playing. All of a sudden, all of this "Taylor Magic" started coming out of my Guild. It was truly incredible to sit there and watch him play. He finished, put it down and said "That's a really nice guitar." I believe Livingston used to play a Guild back in the 70's or 80's...there's pictures of him with one, and there's an old YouTube video of he and James playing together on The Vineyard back in the 80's and Liv's definitely playing a Guild - I'm not clear which model. He now plays a Taylor 914 (?) Dred with a 12-string neck he had Taylor install for him. Its a beauty, but I'll keep my F50R.
I hope you enjoy the songs!
Peace,
Shawn
