Looks great!
Do you plan to retool it as a 12-string? :?:

Curious Joe
Yes, I'm getting some Pearse 80/20 10-47 strings Saturday, then I can work on putting the 12 tuners, nut and saddle back on. I'll get some replacement bushings and screws for the Waverly tuners so I can use them in a small jumbo I'm building.

So, no twin to your 112-6er. :p

Sounds like fun, whichever direction you choose. Brings back fond memories of how I started.

F-112 in transition

FWIW, it was a fun project for me.

Joe

*I have a case that would fit if you're interested. It needs a handle and is an off brand but the guitar fits. Let me know.

When they switched it over, they didn't bother to fill in the extra holes, so it should be a snap.

I'll let you know about the case.

Re: (Arrived) NGD '75 F112

I got the 112 converted back to a 12 stringer. The screw holes matched perfectly with the Waverlys, so there no extra holes to fill. The Waverly bushings did widen the post holes slightly, so the original bushings are a bit loose. I'll deal with that next stringing.
The saddle is also a bit loose, so I may make a new one. I'll also need to get new bone pins. The ones that came with it are plastic (and not a good fit anyway) and I used my original D-4 plastic pins for the other half.

It's been awhile since I've owned a 12-string. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to string one up. (sheesh! )

So far, it's sounding sweet (D'addario PB 10-47) of course, the strings are still settling in (X2  ), so holding pitch is still in transition.

Post conversion pics will follow this week.

I could send pics so do let me know.

Enjoy your F-112,
Joe
I think I'll hold off on the case for now, Joe. The dread case works well enough (I'm not a touring musician), and if I go ahead with the refret, I can use the $ for that.

Re: (Arrived) NGD '75 F112

When I took it out today, I was pleasantly surprised. It had stayed almost perfectly in tune! Just a couple of tweaks. The original tuners held everything rock steady; pretty good for no-name import hardware. :p

Here are the pics of the F-112 reconverted back to a 12-string, with the original tuners.

i just read it first all the way thru right now while on lunch, from when you first found it online to the last 12 string pic.

Very well done Chris! I've felt lots of love for 112s amongst those who own them, but honestly I'm afraid to try one. Three 12ers; just what I need!
