Also, here's my favorite pic of him playing:

You'll notice Eddie and Jeff wear no shirt or in Jeff's case a vest and no shirt. I theorize that it's because they were both extremely athletic players unable to play with shirt on. I can't keep my shirt on for long if I start working hard, and as I've gotten older it's only gotten worse. I use to be able to handle summer heat real well, spent hours outside no hat no shirt. Nowadays, I just stay inside til the sun goes down and and do most of my work in the evening.

I was totally unprepared for the news, and I'm devastated. What a tragic loss. RIP.

I just needed to add that though I have over 80 guitars, there's only room to hang four in my home office, and this is the one that's been hanging by the door (the easiest one to reach) since I got it a couple of years ago:

Every time I play it I'm reminded of this quote from George Lynch, the guitarist from Dokken and Lynch Mob:
Well said, George. Well said

I was in college working in a record store when the first VH album came out. We played it and played it - we didn't know how he was doing that! We thought it was two guitarists at first.

And more than once a "fancy" menswear store near us (we were in a mall) called Security on us for playing it too loud. We said, "But that's how it's SUPPOSED to played!".

If you want to honour Eddie by finally nailing that Eruption solo, fellow Dutchman Paul Davids has a very respectful and interesting approach on the tapping part of it. I like this guy.

I just had to post that my EVH guitar has had a stiff Floyd Rose since I got it and I finally took it down and went over it and got it set up just the way I like it. Now it plays as good as it looks! It sounds as good as it looks because I swapped the pickup for an SD Custom Shop '78 pickup when I got it.

Luckily my wife sleeps like a rock because I tested it with my "EVH Eruption w/Variac" setting that just brings a tear to my eye. 🤘
