So we have 5 kids with spouses and 11 grandkids. We will not be doing a traditional sit-down meal with everyone because of this stupid contagion. But here's what we're doing:

- Everyone will make one or two dishes and bring 6 containers of each to our house (centrally located.)

- I will have a table set up in the garage to place all the dishes on. Each family will take one of everything and take it home to eat.

- There will be one extra of everything that we will bring to someone who could really use a meal

Mrs. Dread is also baking small lemonade pies with graham cracker crust for everyone.

Sounds great Dread. A tough Thanksgiving for a lot of people, but it sounds like your family is making the most of it.

Agreed. Tough times.

As a non-religious person, T-day has been my holiday of choice to celebrate annually. That one day a year my house becomes a place for my aging family to congregate and reflect on the year behind us. This year has some great highs and lows to talk about. Anyway, we're currently COVID-free and hoping for the best. Best to you all as well.

We're doing something similar. Ordinarily my sister and I collaborate on a massive feast for 35 to 50 family, friends, strays. Last couple of years we rented the VFW hall a couple of blocks from our houses.

This year I'm preparing my signature spice-rubbed and apple wood-smoked turkey as well as an herb-rubbed and roasted bird, roasted Brussels sprouts with pancetta, garlic, boiled cider and lemon, and maple-glazed carrots. It will all be packed up in to-go catering containers (along with the wife's mashed potatoes and some other sides) and a text will go out around 3 pm advising everyone to "come and get it".

We're isolating and so I'm making a small Italian meal (well, relatively small for an Italian). I'll bring dinner to my daughter who lives a couple miles away. She'll eat at her place as she is immunocompromised and we simply can't take chances.

I'm progressing from a Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale in my family room to a bag of turkey jerky on my covered deck and finally to a cup of hot spiced apple cider as I watch the Lions lose yet another game.

Good to hear folks are being safe. We are having my son and his GF over on the open pool deck with fan running.

What a treat, Mrs. D did all the cooking today in preparation for tomorrow. I usually do all the cooking, but tomorrow I get to just enjoy the bounty. Plus, she is actually doing some baking, and I'm not a baker at all. Looking forward to her cornbread pudding, and lemonade/cream cheese pie with graham cracker crust.

Hey, where did that whole pie go?

Ah, holiday traditions...

Well we ditched cable tv so that's one tradition we won't be practicing. But I'm sure, as usual, the Lions will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

You know if you're sick within two weeks, unless you're an asymptomatic carrier.

If we shut down completely for one month, stop the spread, it would be over.

Zoom meetings for us.
