I watched the Lawrence Welk Show starting around 1957. I didn't miss many shows, I still watch the reruns today, but not all the time. When I do watch it, my wife leaves the room. No doubt the show isn't for everybody.
I remember Buddy Merrill when he first started on the show, he left to go in the service and Neal LeVang was his replacement. When Buddy returned Lawrence kept both guitarists. They were probably my first two guitarists that I watched to learn. Probably in the early sixties, I got my first guitar, a Vega.
