I'm not sure that I can give you a timeline just yet. I have to get through the next 7-12 months, then I get my life back. Basically, we are talking about a 16" archtop with a three piece neck, and walnut back and sides. I'm also going to use all the odd equipment I've been accumulating in the past year or so. I'm planning on winding my own pickups to go with it. I've even come up with a model name for it.

I wish you good luck with that! Way outside my skill set.

Im like Bill Cosby in that regard, "Everything I made in shop class turned out to be an ashtray."

So much more information online about this stuff. I need to go stalk the Habitat for Humanity store next week. Great place to pick up random tools, even though it's a crapshoot as to selection.

Nice Steve..... I'm seriously considering a timeline to the big "R" day myself! (12 to 24 months) 🍷
"Getting my life back" is a nice way to put it. 👍

We spend our adulthood working at professions we do not like to get respect from people we do not care about and to get money to buy things we do not need. Instead we could be playing/listening music, drinking and scr3%!ng . . . 😏

Read that somewhere - sometime . . . 😂

Interesting - so about the width of a Starfire/T-100. Lots of ways to go with it -- depth, cutaway (or none) style, f-holes style, (or none). Curious to see what you end up deciding on. Pretty exciting!

I'm still dreaming about retirement. It won't happen for me for a while, but I'd like to eventually build some pedals from scratch and fiddle with old motorbikes when I get the time. Maybe record music terrifyingly unbecoming of an old man. We'll see.
