This Steve Earle guy is pretty good. In beginning my musical education (at age 53), I've gone from studying the collected works of John Prine to Kris Kristofferson to the BoDaeans to Steve Earle. I think John Hiatt is on deck.

Check out Steve Earles "Train A Comin'", an acoustic session from '95. Pete Rowan, Norman Blake, and Roy Huskey accompany Steve. Emmy Lou Harris sings on 2 songs. Steve has made a ton of good records.

John Hiatt is an excellent songwriter with a large body of work. "Slow Turning" and "Bring The Family" are a good place to start.

Love the BoDeans, local band I've seen them a couple dozen times.

John Prine, can't write a bad song.

Yeah, I've been learning Steve Earl's "Copperhead Road", I'm doing the Bagpipe part on a Mandolin :D

I wonder if any guitar manufacturer will ever come out with a "John Prine" signature model? They could have an angel (from Montgomery) inlaid into the headstock or little inlaid angels for fret markers :D Maybe we Prineheads need to petition Fender to do a John Prine Guild
