Introduce The new Outlook Bluegrass Band started by Brad and Lori Lambert. I met Lauri when she about 4 years old when I met up with her guitar playing father......a very cool guy with a very cool name; Fleetwood Maples.
Me and the guys would be playing bluegrass locally at hogroasts and family reunions and Rendevous'. While never an accomplished flat picker, I could at least sing and play rythmn, which seem to satisfy the banjo and the mandolin player. Though a flatpicker is nice to have, without a banjo or mandolin bluegrass just isn't bluegrass. Anyway Fleetwood and Lauri would show up at many of our local gigs and also take Lauri to hear more "accomplished" musicians. Fleetwood even had a couple of small festivals on his farm. And at some family gatherings there was no way we were going to leave the house hungry. Lauri's Mom, may she rest in peace, insisted we have a bite to eat. A wonderful cook to say the least and we never turned down her cooking.
Laurie grew up on Bluegrass and all of us watching her do so. Just thought I'd share with ya'll and let ya'll know how proud I am of her hard work and dedication.
