A Couple of years ago I bought a Guild S70. It came with some single coils pickups which appears to be Lindy Fralin Blues Specials! Although this pickups are very good It doesn't seem to fit the all-mahogany body&neck from my S70. The guitar sound like a strat wannabe but doesn't quite gets there. There is no quack or twang, and no characteristic neck pickup tone.
So I have a couple of questions:
1) Which were the original pickups of the S70? (I think for the S70D where DiMarzio SDS-1's, but I don't know for the S70)
2) Which pickups do you think may suit this guitar? I am thinking in something towards Gibson tone: P90 or even humbuckers.
