Jerry was amazing and if Chet hadn't recorded a lot of his stuff it would be lost, beacause Jerry was such a prolific writer and player that he would write something show it to Chet and forget it till Chet reminded him of it....  Now if you don't know of Martin Tallstrom...please check him out he is my new hero...and has a great home page with lots of tips too...listen then listen some more to this young man.... :D :D :D :D Steffan

Just unwrapped it, needs some attention, truss rod needs to be less tense...finish looks like a not shiny varnish thick enough to be rough...orange peel almost...binding is loose a bit in places, the headstock veeneer shrunk a little. but what a piece of my heart it already has....and light maybe 6 pounds...back at you later, glad you liked Michael, I think he is just great...loves the guitar and playing it and it shows....later....Steffan

My life would have been sooo much easier if I'd have learned to play with a thumbpick :?

Start now, I'm learning to play without a thumbpick, and do like the artificial nails from the nail salon, occasionally I get my right thumb and 3 fingers done....flexability prevents arthritis ...in the mind too...so never stop learning...I try to learn something every day. Steffan

Your absolutely correct. I pretty much laid the guitar down for several years and started to experience severe pain in my fretting hand. I'd been playing for over 35 yrs. After picking it back up the pains totally disappeared. As far as learning to use a thumbpick.... I might just give that a go again as well

Jerry was one of the four people on which Chet bestowed the title "Certified Guitar Picker".

Actually it was five, but his long time side man refused the title.
