Here's the '06 X-150D Corona Savoy (now my #1 gigger for "wallpaper" jazz duties: we're making TENS of dollars!):

This is the "Compton" brass bridge from The Gretsch-Talk pages that I find improves the versatility and "sack" over the stock straight wood Corona style bridge:

One of our haunts up the coast from Santa Cruz. I'm the fat bald guy with the blonde Guild (a bitter pill to swallow for a previously legendary never wuz Rock and Roller semi-pro with excess grandiosity and big loud amps):

Heh, glad you're at least making "Tens of dollars" tax free...

Your Guild really stands out. It looks expensive even if it ain't. It really looks like a formidable weapon. Gonna have to get a 170 so I can leave the house with a jazzbox..

Fabulous - thanks for sharing!

I feel your ex-rocker guy thing in spades.

Thanks for the pics Yetto... the guitar looks great! I'll bet the music is good too. I love playing with horns but don't get to do it as often as I'd like.

Did the Compton go right over the old foot? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, that's the Guild "foot."

It came with its own -which seemed to fit the top fairly closely- but I didn't want to get into the sanding it to perfection thing.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the stud span is 3" on the Savoy, vs 2&15/16" like most tune-o-matics. Don't quote me on that though as I haven't measured it.

To me the music sounds good when the trumpet and I double the heads on tunes like Take Five, Round Midnite, Road Song, etc. The two instruments together is a nice sound.

I love having extra chord players with us (the more the merrier) , as it allows us to do that more instead of me being stuck playing rhythm all night.
