My 25 year old neighbor and I (61) are collaborating on original music. He introduced me to a free app called Splice, which allows you to collaborate on recordings over the web. We’re using GarageBand as our platform to simplify things. We record scratch tracks, include musical and lyrical notation, and make each other a collaborator on the projects. He adds his parts and critique to mine, and I to his. It’s very cool, and gets our quarantined creative juices going. GAD or anyone familiar with the app? We could collaborate here as well?!?

I’ve not heard of it before but it seems like a neat way to simply the process.

If you've got garageband, I'm not sure why you need another app to collaborate. A buddy of mine keeps emailing me his solo guitar recordings (in .m4a format). I decided to pick one of them, imported it into my DAW (cubase elements) as a track, did some editing of that track, then played keys along with it on another track. Here's the result. I did this without his knowledge. Blew his mind when I sent to back, lol.

it allows multiple collaborators to work and see updates to the tracks in real time. Plus it updates the tracks/song automatically...no need to download, convert, upload, upend, sidetrack, shift, double down, reinstate, or anything else. Just a little easier. Your methods works fine also...nice song btw

OK, that's fancy!

Thanks, Antney! Appreciate the listen (although it's not like the old days on mp3.com when the site paid royalties for listens. Of course, you needed a whole mess of them to make anything! CD purchases through their site did amount to some reasonable money....)
