Oxnard/Cordoba Guild has incorporated the year into the serial number.
One example a forum member posted is "C160003" which implies the 3rd instrument manufactured in 2016. presumably, they will start over in 2017 with "C170001."
While that's an eminently reasonable deduction, the key word in your observation is "implies".
There's another post quoting a "CA16" prefix on a D20 so I'm already scratching my head about that:.

I can understand if it's just a typo but I saw that before I got to this thread and right away I thought of the old Corona system where they all started with "C" but the next 2 letters defined the model.
And I still can't see the s/n in the photos posted so far.

I made a YouTube video regarding the M-20 I purchased, here's the link:

Here's the link: https://youtu.be/qLmAkfOMuRk

Thanks for watching!

If any of you have any questions I can try and answer them here.

One of the best and most thorough NGD recorded events I have ever seen on the LTG. Nice work and thanks for taking the time to put all that together. The M20 sounds great out of the box, and yes, very distinctly Guild. I would have went with the sunburst too. CMG is really investing in this run as well, all the extras you get with the guitar purchase. Boom!

Thanks guys, it means a lot! All of the factors combined seemed to make this a special guitar and I just wanted to document it in someway.

Yeah, Al. I almost had it right.

No A in the serial #. My bad.
NO worries, thanks for the accuracy update and also thanks to Mavuser for re-posting that photo, I missed that in the other thread when I was scrolling by the posts, only saw the one with the obscured model # on it.
@Snacky: Congrats! and THANKS for putting up that vid.
For me that'd be a "chore" and I'm sure anybody viewing it down the road will appreciate the effort as well.
As mentioned, it has been one of he finer "NGD" posts here , first sample from a brand new factory and all..

Nice vid well done ;) Id have one but don't beleive I'd buy one maybe steel it .. Hmmm nah ! Guess I'd have to pay something for it ...

I'm just not sure how much one could do with that type of tone unless it was their signature sound. Then again I'm most likely over thinking the small body guitars :(

Just curious how the neck profile on the M-20 you have compares to the current M-120? I see that they are both 1 3/4 inch nut width. I don't believe that the originals were this way, but I've never seen nor played one. Do you know if the Guild concert sized body basically sits somewhere in between a Martin 0 & 00? And I was wondering what contributed to your feeling that the Martin 00-15M that you compared it to, played just a little bit better? If you can pinpoint it?

I am very familiar with those (having played many in stores). But not these - outside of the various import versions. I did play and own briefly a late 90's F-30R. That, I (surprisingly) did not like... But I am looking into one of these. If I can find one. It's proving harder that I'd have thought. Thanks man! And unbelievable video. You rocked it, big time...

generally speaking the vintage Hoboken nut widths were 1 5/8" & the Westerly's 1 11/16'' for the F-20/M-20

that is correct, but the Guilds are deeper in the body. especially the F-20 and especially the Westerly's.

I don't know anything of the new ones, however. I say snag one!
