Been checking on wood types and if not Spruce, how about sinker wood for the top?
Martin just made a run of seventy five guitars from sinker mahogany.
According to the story this was Honduran mahogany that had been under water in a river in Belize for over 100 years.
The model is, CS D18-12. It is a 12 fret, slot head, Ditson style dread.
Some owners report it's a thunderous, fantastic sound.
Michigan and a few northern states are also places for sinkers. Logging companies shutdown and left the wood to sink.
