No one here can fault anyone for wanting an L-5. It's one of the great grandaddy's of archtop guitars, if not THE great grandaddy!

That's a gorgeous example, Harry. I've always loved the curved point at the end of those bound fretboards. Just beautiful!

I have to agree, Lloyd Loar's archtop guitar and mandolin family instruments were game changers, though they were, of course, built on the pioneering work of Orville Gibson:cool:

Gosh, guys. I'm knocked out that you guys would dig this so much. A friend played this guitar today and started laughing when I asked him what it was made of. The books usually source 'Oregon Spruce' for a Sitka spruce top, but my buddy said (as he laughed), "it's Adirondack. Just-listen-to-the-Guitar." Lots to learn, amigos, lots to learn!
