No Longer For Sale...MRT
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: I am offering up for Sale here, my Exceptional 2000 Martin D-28GE (Golden Era), Serial Number #762006, #224 in the Series. It is in Exc+++ condition, and is Martin Brazilian/Adi in every sense of the word! In Looks, Tone, Volume, Sustain, Blend, Resonance, Sparkle, Chime and Playability.
STUNNING STRAIGHT GRAINED QUARTER SAWN BRAZILIAN BACK AND SIDES, WITH AN ADIRONDACK TOP THAT IS STRIKING, WITH SUBTLE SILKING AND MEDULLARY RAYS THROUGHOUT. THE HEADSTOCK VENEER IS ALSO EXCEPTIONAL IN ITS GRAIN STRUCTURE AND COLORING. PLEASE SEE PICTURES!
CONDITION: The Back and Sides are in extremely great condition, with the usual surface swirl marks from careful play and handling, and only a few very small scuffs on the back. The End Pin has been drilled out for a Jack, and has a proper size replacement endpin in it now. There is no hole in the saddle slot, as the original owner said he used an “End Pin Pickup”. There are some Strap Mark impressions around the endpin area. The Top has the usual Pick scratches on the Pick Guard, with some light surface pick marks just beyond the pick guard area. There are a few shallow impressions and pick marks on the Top, but nothing that I could get to show in a picture. The neck, headstock and frets are pristine.
CERTIFIED MARTIN LUTHIER WORK: The following work was performed in May 2009, per C. F. Martin Co. Customer Service recommendations, by UMGF “gtrdoc” (Dennis Berck).
When I received the Guitar, although the Neck angle was perfect, there was a minute (.005-.007”) gap at the tip of the neck heel (unglued part) where it meets the body. I could have left it that way, but I wanted the Guitar to be perfect. So I had the neck removed, and some tedious trimming done, and had the neck re-installed using HIDE GLUE. The neck angle is once again Perfect, and the gap is gone. Also, when I received the Guitar it had a Micarta Saddle in it, so I had a New Martin Fossil Ivory Long Saddle installed/glued in with HIDE GLUE. I also had the Frets Leveled and Dressed. The Guitar is set up perfectly with 7/64”(E) and 5/64”(e) respectively at the 12th Fret. Relief is .002-.004” at pitch with Medium Strings. The Guitar is set up perfectly.
Selling Price: 8250.00.00 Plus Shipping.

Note: Selling for Economic and Personal reasons. The Guitar has no issues, and nothing to do with my forced decision to sell.
