New pick arrived today, this is my third silver half dollar pick, I just love these things. I also have a 1964 Kennedy and a 1958 Franklin. And my birth year 1954 silver quarter pick that i pretty much only use for mandolin.
It's hard to explain, but I'll try. I like a thicker pick anyway, like a Jazz III for electric and mando. But these silver flat picks take on new characteristics as they warm between your thumb and forefinger. The metal expands when it warms. And they are beveled and polished so they get really slippery on the strings, no sharp spots or hangups. Absolutely the best control I've found for playing electric, and sometimes acoustic as well.
