Yes, they're great... the accordion player (Doug Bright) is also in the 4 pc jazz combo my wife put together so I gig with him fairly often (they let me play drums). He does a lot of bluegrass on mandolin too, is immensely talented and a good singer as well. Orville helped me out on mandolin and lap steel some years back when I did my first CD project. He's also a kick-a** dobro player.

So Orville has played with John Cephas? That's fine company. John can play some nice acoustic blues. 8)

Love that Zydeco Joe, and what a lovely little spot they're playing at !

When I was a teen, taking accordion lessons would have been one of the un-coolest things that you could possibly have done !

Wish stuff like that happened here.

Orville knows John (and Phil) from the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop.
http://www.langston.com/PSGW/ where they have all been teachers over the years. They are also both fairly regular instructors at the annual Country Blues Workshop in Port Townsend, WA where Phil (Wiggins) was the Artistic Director up through last summer. John is a fine man, he's been a friend and an inspiration to me for over 20 years.

I was really impressed by Mr. Bright in that video!

Thanks. Seems like you have a pretty interesting and talented circle of friends!

Yes, I've been pretty lucky that way. I've met lot's of folks thru a 20+ year involvement with the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop http://www.langston.com/PSGW/ and playing semi-pro for many years. My wife was a full-time musician and ran a booking agency up until this year as well so we've been in it up to our necks. Also, one of the nice things about the Seattle/Northwest acoustic music scene is that it seems more co-operative than competitive, unlike some of the bigger markets. Lots of nice folks up here in the corner!
