First, I want to thank Richard for sending me this all hog (solid top) dreadnought guitar.
It is a W Todd, who I think was a luthier in the Nashville TN area, but maybe designed and built overseas, hard to know. I know he did a lot of electrics and hollow bodies but not many acoustics.

The dread is real resonant and has a nice bass to it.

I think it was easier for Richard to ship it off to me then try to sell it on Reverb, but I thanks him for the gift. I really dig the guitar, and as I have the Br, an all solid wood hog Guild dread, this one is a touch louder. It is a lot heavier too, more like my D35.

Thanks Richard! This dread will got a lot of playtime. Now I have a dread for each child. Which means, one day, assuming they all show interest in playing acoustic, I will have to get another Guild dread for me...:)

Sounding mighty fine too!
You're a good man Richard!
I will second that and Richard wants no "feathers in his hat" but I am gonna put some, anyway.
I have a friend who lives in pretty much poverty but boy can he play a guitar. I shared his story on this forum a couple years ago. His guitar was held together by duct tape, tennis shoe strings, and a set of vise grips. Strings were a good ¼" high but he could make that piece of wood bring tears to your eyes. Lots of folks on the forum offered to help but Richard (my poverty friend refers to him as King Richard) was first. Since Richard first helped, he has sent my friend--not one penny charged him--three or four acoustic guitars (last one was a D25), a like new Roland amp, and so many sets of strings and mics, and connecting cords.
Richard is the best!!

I recall the original story, but was not aware of the other items Richard has sent your friend’s way. Absolutely wonderful!

Not a luthier as it sounds. Here's what I found out about Bill Todd:

"I'm a lifelong Guitarist, Performer, Studio Owner and Guitar Dealer. I also manufactured custom and production guitars under my W Todd & Co brand for several years, out of Nashville Tn. In 2012 I returned to my home "on" the Fla Keys, where in addition to participating in the lively music scene here I am a licensed USCG Master Captain. I locally represent Morgan Monroe and Giannini Guitars as well as Eddy Finn Ukes, and because of long time involvement with Guitars and Musical Equipment, there's an interesting number of items (some Vintage) in our warehouse which I have decided to offer ... a lot of these items have been saved because they are great pieces and I can tell you that I am as motivated by finding them happy homes as getting a a bit of capital back out of them. So please contact me with any questions you may have and don't hesitate to make REASONABLE offers.
Thanks! Bill Todd

A very touching story. You are far from me. Another country an ocean in the middle. Yet human stories and emotions are so similar and make our Earth so small. So this pandemic has also taught us.

add me to the list of receiving a free guitar from Richard! mine was a Guild! just for posting some photos. Richard if u ever need anything in the northeast just let me know!

Also just want to add that Neil from this forum i'm pretty sure it was...gave away a beater (D-35?) to a talented but broke kid at an open mic night, that was also a great story.
