Iconic brand may be packing up its last picnic:

I'm sure many of us have fond memories of the lack of supervision we kiddies always seemed to enjoy when a Tupperware party was in full raucous swing:

Some of these parties were legendary, like Woodstock, where famous rock bands were even brought in to provide entertainment, and clean-up could last for days:

30 years later, however, the real reason for why Tupperware became obsolete is only too apparent:

Too many cheap imitations.

I remember that as a small child I was dragged to some Tupperware parties by my mom.

Clearing out my mom's house after her death last year, I found that a lot of the really old Tupperware was still in good condition.

But a lot of the cheap knock-off stuff had cracks and discolouration. It went to the garbage.

The good old stuff went to her church for their fund raising sales.

Plastics are ruining the earth, the sea, the wildlife. We need to knock it off. I love restaurants that have paper boxes for leftovers. Like Canonita at the Venetian and Border Grill at Mandalay Bay here in Vegas. It's not that hard.
<veer?>

I have a friend who often joins us for pizza. The "take home" leftovers option is basically a small delivery box and even that much cardboard concerns her. So she brings something from home to pack her leftovers in.

We also try and get done before last call since the staff comes around about 15 minutes before closing and pours your beer into a plastic cup so the staff can wash the glasses and you can finish your beer at your own pace so long as you are willing to do it outdoors.

I hate 'em. I see far too many of the g-----n things on the streets, with food still in 'em, deposited there by sub-human antisocial self-centered swine.

My paintball gun and I live for the opportunity to apprehend perps in the act.

Better yet, just abolish takeout except in deposit bottles.
