Guild artist Nikki Lane, who played a GAD M-20 already like 10 years ago and later the new Oxnard made M-20 had already a new blue one in 2018 and now just a fews days ago visited the Oxnard factory again where Guild showed the "Signature M-40 in Daphne Blue". Not sure if this will be a model available to the public or if it is simply one more custom made for her. EDIT: See post #17 for answer.

Anyway, here's the M-20E in Vintage Sunburst she played in around 2017:

And the Daphne Blue M-40 one from 2018 I believe:

And this is the new M-40 Guild showed on Instagram a few days ago:

She also posted a picture of her being in the factory:

And if the Daphne Blue alone is not enough, she also played that "custom colored" one:

Hmmm. Daphne blue seems to not have much blue in it, nor is it exactly white.

But it does contrast nicely with the rosewood fingerboard & bridge.

It might be just the light in that Instagram post. But yes, it looks way to light colored, a Daphne Blue should be like the Eric Clapton Stratocaster.

Or if aged like this or even "greener":

In the factory tour photos, the last one shows a wall display with soundboards and bracing patterns. That's pretty cool!

Yeah, I could use one of those "Signature M-40 in Daphne Blue" for futzing around in front of the computer or on the couch. I like it!

A couple thoughts...the F40 body looks awful small, thought it was more Orchestra/Auditorium size, or has Oxnard changed that...leggy or not, would be nice if she could play in tune :nightmare:

Shame that they couldn't have gotten someone with guitar chops. As much as Doyle left me cold, he was a player. :-(

Well...

Limba ain't mahogany, not even in the same genus...prolly a nice guitar if you are into the small bodies...but damn, wasn't there someone present to tune that for her? How could anyone allow that to go out? Damn!

Thanks to our brother in Germany for trying to sort this out :smile-new:

Guild confirmed via e-mail to me that it is a custom for Nikki Lane only, and will not offered to the public at this time. But things could always change in the future.

I'm glad Guild isn't putting out a Hello Kitty guitar.
