I really need to sell off a few gits; prolly the 2 GADs, and at least one Washburn.
That would make some needed room to acquire something like this pre-loved DV-52.

I might just call dibs on that DV52 (for a friend of mine) if no one else is going for it.

It is interesting to see the Guild prices to be much higher than what is typically mentioned around here. Are prices on used Guilds increasing or are we just really good at sniffing out a deal?

:D Sold! I just bought it thanks for the link. Been looking for a DV52 for a resonable price. Told myself I'd never buy a guitar without playing it first...hope I don't regret this. I just spoke to the seller, been in business for some years and seems like a reputable shop. The headstock repair is why it's so cheap. Seller said they did the repair in his shop like 12 years ago, and it's only noticable when looking for it. Sure can't see it in the pics. Otherwise looks about perfect. Should be here by the weekend! :D :D

Congrats! Of the various Guilds I own, the DV52 may be my favorite, and it's the one I've been touring with since the end of 2010. (I'll be taking it to Europe and the UK with me in two weeks.)

I suspect you got a great guitar at a really great price. Let us know what you think once you've had a chance to put it through its paces (and send learnintoplay62 a box of cookies or somethin'!).

Good luck!

Congrats! I was wondering why the price was so low & would have been very tempted myself if I was local. Need a report! :)

Seriously, thanks Learnin'! I wouldn't have seen it without your post. The pics are down now on the web page (I asked them to email to me so I can look at it on the hour until it gets here).... To be practical I'll need to sell my JF30 to pay for it...but just maybe I can keep both. We'll see how the bills and the Boss go. I have some cash stashed but I can't cover the whole thing without digging into the family budget or selling something. It's gonna be a long week.

Hey thanks for the pics Treem....How'd you do that they are down on the site? Just love the satin as apposed to HG. "Bronzeback" has been my internet alias for years...nick name for smallmouth bass. I like to fish too! Now that you mention it though it does fit the guitar too.

I prefer both the satin and hand-rubbed finishes. Never did like gloss finishes much - they're pretty to look at but when you're really playing and getting sweaty, it tends to get sticky.

Congrats on a nice price!

Well she made it to VA today and on my porch when I got home. Man what a beauty! The headstock repair the seller refered to you have to look real hard to even notice. Came nice and cleaned up with fresh strings and is genuine Tone Bomb. First impressions: definitely lighter than my old '75 D-50 and '08 Tacoma D55. Thinner neck too. Tone wise hard to compare without playing side by side but sure sounds spectacular. Safe to say different from the others...more like a rosewood bullhorn. Clear, loud...just wonderful! :D

Congratulations! Thats a beaut. I also said I'd never buy a guitar without playing it first  Never say never huh? But when a couple Guild X170's came up on ebay and with Guilds reputation (I've owned a couple previous) I didn't hesitate at all. Enjoy

Re: nice used guilds, Dv52 nice price- Another one!

Looks like Spruce Tree has ANOTHER DV52 on the board. No pics up on the site but description reads a '93 with Fishman Matrix installed. These guys were great to deal with when I got mine... someone buy this please I don't need two!

Center Seam Re Glued?

Another DV-52 used offered by same seller... http://www.sprucetreemusic.com/guitars.html#flat

The description of this second used DV-52 says "top center seam re-glued". What's the top center seam, that sounds serious, could that be a reason for avoiding this guitar? Especially since for most potential buyers, we would need to buy it without first holding and playing it.

anyone have some more sound clips of a DV-52?
