NGD: The Other JF55-12 Custom Shop

This is the guitar that made me swear that I was done. It is a Jan 1999 Custom Shop JF55/12 with what was described as "Tree of Life" inlays. That certainly seems to fit with other "Tree of Life" inlays I've seen, but the pattern on this outdoes any of the others I've seen.

I don't know how the inlay was made, but it is impeccable, and if you look closely at the headstock you'll see that the inlay pattern is perfectly continued on the truss rod cover.

Holy mackerel, that's some bling! I like how the vines are mother-of-pearl while the florets are abalone. Congrats on the superstar of Guild 12-strings!!

Dang!!! That sure is elaborate! And, well integrated, as you mentioned.

I can't recall if it was the "Liberty Tree" guitar or not, but Taylor has done interesting inlays that cross from the fingerboards to the body to the pickguard as well. I don't think I've ever seen a TRC that carefully mated to a guitar's design. Very cool, GAD! Congrats!

I’m not a connoisseur of 12-strings so the best I can do is to say that it sounds like a Guild Jumbo 12-string.

So… magnificent.

What's funny is that as soon as I noticed the TRC inlay, my first thought was, "No problem telling if the TRC is upside down on this one!" so great minds, and all that.
