I got this in straight trade because I wanted a Guild maple 12 string. The action feels good. I think the 1st strings are 11’s so there’s are a little more tension and a little more volume than my JF55-12 which has 10’s. The pickup connection doesn’t look like its stock from the factory. But since I don’t normally use a pickup I’m not very knowledgeable about them. It has a little more sparkle than the JF55-12 but that’s probably due to maple vs rosewood. I like the color of the burst. It looks like an authentic Guild. But the single label with no other designation made me wonder at first. Especially considering the person that put up that nice looking Koa fake. Also the case had a very sticky residue from a removed large sticker. The bottle Goo Gone took it off and made the case look close to new. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The straight edge down the fretboard runs flush with top of the bridge. So the neck angle is good. Frets have no wear.

The D-TAR Load 'N Lock is from the factory as this page in the 2006 Tacoma catalog shows. Your guitar is from 2007 (TK).

Just make sure not to leave the batteries in there if you don't use it as they can run out!

"Battery installation and removal is accomplished with a simple quarter turn of the collet on the jack. A clockwise quarter turn locks the jack in place and a counter-clockwise quarter turn releases the jack for battery removal and replacement. The Load ’N Lock takes two AA batteries installed with the positive terminals pointing down the tube. Be sure to align the white stripe on the jack body with the white stripe on the battery tube. If the AA batteries are inserted backwards, no damage to the unit wil occur. However, the preamp will not operate."

Oh, and make sure to change the batteries or you may run into trouble extracting them in the future.

Congrats Rich! That’s a nice looking 412. I think that’s what they call an Amber burst if I’m not mistaken. Looks great with the maple. Enjoy!

This was very informative and helpful Ralf, thanks. TRC I can barely tell with the strings and black on black. So I guess the BIG end 👆🆙 I will try to shine up the end piece as it has become a bit oxidized. Not shiny like your picture.

Yup, that's the real deal, rich... other than the fact that the TRC is upside down!! :D :D

Nice burst too. Good luck.

Might want to get a setup done on that. The saddle looks low on strings 1 and 2.
A set up with this saddle was done by sound pure along with a complete fret dress. The string height and volume is fine with me for now. Especially with how I play. But I could see it might not be a fit for another player. TRC big end 🆙. I will change it. Thanks for the advice.

I took the batteries out. The end piece came off easily as described in Ralf’s brochure image. Batteries were fine and not corroded. I will try the pickup out this weekend with new batteries.

My favorite kind of burst - just gorgeous! And re batteries, a pair of Energizer Ultimate Lithiums will guarantee no leakage & additionally will last a very long time. Congrats & Enjoy!

Superb. Although I am not really a 12er fan, the F-412 I had I loved way more than any other Guild 12 string I had ever owned including the F-512 and the F-612.

Congrats!!!!!
Don't worry, Richard. It's getting plenty of play time at casa Chaz. :D

The Lithium-ion batteries are outstanding. And, I have some gear that lives outside in the winter and these suckers work great. Sounds like a great idea for the D-TAR L&L system, but kind of overkill. I'm all for overkill. :D. They're like $3.50/ea!

I have never played the F412 (or the newer designation F512 maple), and have always wondered how the sound compares. Rich, you are the perfect person to tell me, since you own the JF55-12, as do I.

Charlie, I’m putting lithiums in almost everything these days. Unless I’m positive I’ll be changing batteries in an item frequently, I’ll use lithiums to keep the product from getting ruined by a standard battery. All my remotes (TV, dvd, stereo) get them because I never-ever think to check on those darn little AAA’s!
