There have been several really nice Guilds on the LTG block lately, and I bit on this 1971 S-100. I certainly don't need it, and frankly I never thought I'd own an S-100. But...
This thing should probably be in a museum, somewhere.
(That's just dust below the tailpiece and around the jack)
I noticed that the adjustment screws on the neck pickup are smaller than those on the bridge pickup. I was
able to find a few photos of this on other similar guitars.
Three-line "Chesterfield" and older-style TRC on an S-100? Yup.
Open-backed Grovers on an S-100? Yup. Clean enough?
And the back is just as clean. Just a few very small shallow dents.
And just in case you were wondering...
They just don't make them like this, anymore.
I have to add that it plays very nicely, with a near-perfect setup as it arrived. The HB-1s are clear and strong, and break up my Dr. Z very sweetly.
