Serial number AJ321683. I bought this for the cost of shipping from new mexico to Georgia. Cant really find any good info, i know its new hartford(A) and i think its 2005 or 6(J) .Its got a split in the headstock and am thinking about just replacing entire neck, but need to be sure of what ive got to get replacement neck .

Take some photos when you get it. If it's a really clean break sometimes they glue up really nicely. Congrats!

We'd love to see a pic of the guitar, and the split. Someone should be along to help with the dating, but I doubt you'll be able to find a replacement neck since the current owners of Guild do not make that model, which was made under the previous owners.
Is it a neck break, or a split where wings were added to the headstock to make it wider? That would be much easier to repair, and even a neck break is usually repairable.

Moving to Acoustics and title edited for clarity

......... actually, that's an end of the '90s guitar; definitely made in Westerly, RI

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

As usual, lol thank you Hans. I couldnt pass this up . 140.00 US dollars . The head stock is broke at the truss rod adjustment recess ( just before. And just before the nut on back side of neck. I can repair it, but looking for a servicable neck. Thanks again.

If it's a JF-30-12 it's not New Hartford. Oh, I see Hans already suggested the real origin.

OK, looking forward to your picture spread.

The owner told me ,thats why i questioned . I didnt think it was new hartford, but sometimes with guilds you never know. I have a guild D 4 . The neck block and underside of top are stamped oct 29 1990. But thats a bit before D4,s were put into production. Some guitars werent assigned serial numbers at the time of assembly . SO, You never know. Serial number says its a 92.

mclkar my '72 G37 had a complete headstock break 35 years ago it was fixed and still going strong.

Found a neck for it in philadelphia, but not as good looking flame maple grain pattern.
Probably have this one repaired, and may get the other one coming for a just in case scenario

Just go for the repair, mclkar54. That break is fixable and will not look terrible if done reasonably. You're going to have a hard time finding a neck with that kind of beautiful striping like they had back in the mid-90's.

Yes, keep the original neck and just have it repaired. It'll be great!

Ive found a neck of the same vintage, but as i said ,its not as nice of a flame grained as the one on the guitar. It will be here in about 2 hours. I believe ill have neck repaired, but, im going to get that neck from philly coming .. i can always resell the neck .

This is the guitar.
