If it’s not permissible then I will delete. I know it’s called NGD for New Guitar Day.
I did some trading and got what was close to a 14 fret SS Orpheum. It’s a J-45 clone with a short scale. It has a carpathian spruce top and a curly walnut back and sides. I like the antique burst top. It’s like my D-55 from New Hartford in that respect. It has a rosewood fingerboard. It’s made by a local (Portland, Oregon) luthier named Kerry Char. It sounds slightly woody but with great note separation and complexity.

That walnut is just gorgeous! Interestingly, Kerry Char was recommended to me years ago as a “go to” luthier in Portland if I ever needed one for repair work. Never have needed one because I‘ve only bought what I could tackle myself, but I did drive by his house one day to find his exact location - just in case! It’s nice to know he’s still out there doing quality work, and many congrats on finding a real beauty!

I traded for this from Sound Pure. So it’s used. I live a little over an hour away from him. I’m in need of a luthier since the one I used became too busy. I want to take it over to him so i can get a little more details about the guitar.

Beautiful. I never cease to be amazed by independent builders. He even found a source for non-cheezee looking pick guards.
