My offer was accepted for this Tacoma, Washington built F412 and I promptly paid for it last Friday. I got a tracking number and kept checking it, and it kept saying "invalid number." By this point it was the weekend, so I figured the guitar wouldn't even start to be shipped till Monday (yesterday). But I contacted the seller anyway asking "What's up with this invalid number?"

Sound Pure, the seller, is a brick and mortar store in Durham, Pennsylvania. I heard back on Monday. The number was correct, but reverb had indicated the shipper was FedEx instead of USPS! So Sound Pure had indeed shipped it out on Friday. Now when I checked tracking, the guitar was already over in Spokane! All the way across the country in 3 days? Cool! A couple hours later, it had already left Spokane and was delivered to the little post office where I pick up my mail! I went down and got it!

So, OMG, what a GORGEOUS guitar. I'm definitely into bursts, but I never had a "tea burst" before. In excellent shape as advertised. Kudos to Sound Pure! The ad mentioned that their luthier gave it a fret dress and setup, and the action is fantastic -- so easy to play. And the tone -- so balanced, love the bass presence, everything a jumbo maple archback ought to be....

What a great story and love happy endings. That is my favorite of all burst finishes and I don't have a color other than, "it is almost like honey burst" to my eyes. Makes me think soft melody.

That ice tea burst is the bomb, congrats! I think Sound Pure is in North Carolina so that means it travelled even farther in only 3 days. Amazing!

Verrrry Nice and that is a great burst! I hope you get lots of great tunes from it.
Wow! So many here are getting Maple bodied Guilds. Is this the big Spring release taking place as I've heard mentioned in a few threads during the Winter? I joined recently so this is my first exposure to the Spring season on LTG.
I have had a few items in the past year shipped on FEDEX(not my choice), I just thought that it was my over expectation on updates but it seems I'm not the only one that has seen it, They don't seem to update anywhere near as often as UPS esp. over weekends.

Thanks, all. I just could not capture the silking on the spruce top.

I don't think the lower bout is as deep as my JF30-12, which is just a monster cannon.... I'll have to do a more detailed comparison when I get a chance....

Wow, what a nice looking guitar! I mentioned to someone else that I was not really a burst guy, but the more I see, the more I like them. While I just picked up a 2003 JF-30 12, which I love, wonder if I should upgrade to a F412. There is one I am following online...Of course, I can hear the chorus singing "Keep them both." Dave

Wowza, that is a purdy iced tea burst, looks like the JF.30 has some added competition in the house. HNGD! CouGrats!

I think that's what you're going to find, Cougs. Your JF-30-12 will have around a 5" body depth at the tail (not sure about Corona as much as Westerly), and the modern F-50/F-412/F-512 will be around 4".

@Cougar So, what's the verdict? Are you ready to jettison the JF-30-12 yet? :D :D

Seriously, I owned and played many of the deeper body depth jumbos but I never felt there was any sacrifice in, well, anything. I've ended up with all shallower (4") jumbos in my brood.

Congratulations, Cougar. I have an iced tea burst F30 and have long wondered how well the burst would work on a larger guitar. The answer is: pretty darn well. Play it in good health.

Well, here's a surprise. The Tacoma F412 has a 5" body depth at the tail,
and the Corona JF30-12 is almost 5 and a half -- a full 5 3/8".
